North Sandusky Campground Location

North Sandusky Campground is located on the Western Edge of Rend Lake in Southern Illinois. It located just 6 miles from Interstate 57. The nearest town is Sesser to the East with a population of 1,931 with several fuel and groceries available there. While in Sesser, visit The Custard Stand at the intersection of highways 154 and 148. They make their own orange sherbet ice cream and are know for their orange dreamsicles.

North Sandusky Campground Amenities

The campground has mostly level asphalt sites all with 50 amp electric hookups and several with full service hookups. What I like with this campground is several of the sites exceed 50′ giving you plenty of room for parking your RV with room left for your tow vehicle. Each campsite includes a picnic table, lantern post, and fire pit with grill. Visit recreation.gov to make reservations online.

North Sandusky Boat Ramp

There is a dump station located both in the North and South sections of the campground as well as hot showers, flush toilets, and drinking water. Most people are here for the lake so there is a nearby boat ramp with boat dock.

There is also a concrete paved bike trail that extends from North Sandusky south to other areas such as South Sandusky Campground, South Sandusky Beach, Rend Lake Dam, and South Marcum Campground. North Sandusky Campground also contains a disc golf course next to the campground.

The maximum stay is 14 days in the campground during a 30 day rolling period. Parking is permitted on the pavement only with the exception of empty boat trailers which are permitted in the grass as long as they can be moved there by hand.
