Eagle Creek State Park is on Clearwater Lake near Findlay, Illinois. Eagle Creek State Park is situated on the central part of beautiful Lake Shelbyville and provides the perfect setting outdoor recreation and natural relaxation for a day, weekend, or even longer. The site is situated on 11,100 acres of water with 250 miles of shoreline and offer large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodland ideal for camping, hiking, fishing, waterskiing, pontoon boating, or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake itself.
Eagle Creek State Park – Camping
There are 145 class A reservable sites located in the park. The park has flush toilets, shower house, and a dump station with water fill. There are several non reservable Class A sites in the park and other than holidays, the park rarely is completely full.
Fishing & Boating
It is easy to fish the lake or go out on that pontoon or ski boat with the nearby four lane boat ramp and 175 vehicle parking area located within the park. There is a handicap transfer station for boaters at the boat ramp. There are two marinas located on the lake providing boating supplies as well as fishing gear.
Hiking Trails
There are three marked nature trails through the grass land or forest area.
Hunting
Hunting is available in the 785 acre Eagle Creek Wildlife Area just west of the park. In the fall, the campground is filled with eager deer hunters whom use this great natural resource. There is also a bow range for public use.
Nearby Attractions
Nearby you will find a large concentration of Amish in the towns of Arthur and Arcola. If you visit in the fall you can visit The Great Pumpkin Patch just outside of Arthur.
They have live music at times with vendors on display. Take the kids on a hay ride or a walk through the haunted barn. When you finish there you can visit Yoder’s Kitchen in Arthur for a country style buffet with all the fix ins. While there try their homemade bread with some apple butter or Amish peanut butter that are at your table.

We like to visit Eagle Creek State Park in the fall to meet up with family from up north. The camp host is a retired marine and is great to deal with. The shower house is clean and the campground is a great place for a weekend getaway.
